50 George Square to be named after 50 Cent
Jeremy Robbins, Head of the School of Literature, Languages and Cultures, has exclusively revealed that 50 George Square is to be renamed “Fiddy George Square”.
Robbins explained, “We felt a bit jealous of all the buildings with superior names such as David Hume Tower and ‘The Library’. We decided to have a brainstorm to see who could represent the diversity, intelligence, and ambition that our school thrives on. We came up with 50 Cent.”
50 Cent studied Classics and Anthropology at Edinburgh where he was a keen member of the Beekeeping Society and occasionally DJ’d at the Big Cheese. Since graduating, Mr Cent has been shot nine times.
Mr Cent said that he was honoured to be chosen and expressed his surprise that it hadn’t happened sooner:
“I am one of the University of Edinburgh’s most illustrious alumni. When did Arthur Conan Doyle ever drop a fucking mixtape, yo?”
