BREAKING NEWS: Snow in Scotland
The University of Edinburgh came to a standstill today as every student who has not previously lived north of Leicester was exposed to the mystical phenomenon of ‘snow’. International students flocked in their swarms to tweet a picture of frozen rain, in order to alert fellow students who apparently don’t have windows.
Following research into the strange weather phenomenon, Flipside was able to unearth the last recorded photograph of snow in the Meadows, estimated to be over 9 months old, however the source wasn’t very clear on when it was taken or which instagram filter they used.
During such a crucial examination period, many library-bound students are in uproar at the extreme nature of the weather. Newton Farbridge, a fresher studying History of Art, said, “I just can’t keep my head between the books when there are so many snapchat opportunities on our doorstep. Why Briana and those EUSA scoundrels aren’t doing anything about this travesty is beyond me.”
He continued, “How am I supposed to survive this winter when father hasn’t even paid to get my Barbour rewaxed?”
The unfortunate fresher’s cries for help from EUSA have been echoed all over the snowy campus, especially by students snowed into the basement of the Hugh Rob Building.
Screams of “This is just like The Day After Tomorrow” have been heard echoing around the visible remnants of George Square, which is currently buried under at least 7mm of snow.
