Bristo Square to host X Games 2014
It has been revealed today that Bristo Square will be the next host of the “X Games”, the perennial extreme sports competition.
Bristo Square faced stiff competition for the right to host the games from various other totally radical chillout spots.
The square was deemed perfect for the event as it acts as a highly effective deterrent to any levels of self-respect.
“It’s totally rad to have our awesome dude-level skills recognised by the sickest peeps in the earthosphere,” said the bearded guy who looks an awkward amount older than the rest of the boarders.
“Hey man watch this dope-ass move!” he yelled to us as he proceeded to scrape the inside of his legs against his skateboard before stumbling into the side of McEwan Hall.
The debate over whether or not the skaters in Bristo Square are hilariously bad or just plain irritating is one that polarises opinion at Edinburgh University. “I used to find them hilarious,” said one Edinburgh student, “but now I just feel slightly scared that my death will feature an old, fat man on a pogo stick.”
On the other hand, several University students expressed delight that overgrown 12 year olds on roller skates will further impede their travel across campus.
Defend Edinburgh are set to campaign against the hosting of the games because of an injustice that is yet to be confirmed.
