“Emergency search called for gap year student who can’t find themselves”
In the early hours of the morning gap year student Sarah Smith realised that she had been travelling for two weeks in Asia, and still hadn’t found herself. Instantly she raised the alarm, and now a search party of around one hundred white people have assembled to help her. With thousands more sending messages of their support via Facebook and Twitter.
Speaking to Flipside about the search Sarah said, “it has all been so traumatic for me! Everyone always said if I went off to Asia I would like totally find myself and everything would be amazing from there. But it has been like days and I still haven’t, I am not even sure where I am, everything is just so different that it feels the same. Hopefully the search party can help. I might even find one of those Sherpas, apparently they know where lots of things are in Asia.”
When asked how long she had been missing, Sarah told authorities that, “I hadn’t ever thought about it, but probably my whole life, Ohh my god that is deep, you should totally write that down.”
