EUSA President to give up wellbeing for Lent
Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) President Jonny Ross-Tatum has announced via his blog this week that he is giving well-being for the next forty days, as part of the Christian Festival of Lent.
Ross-Tatum stated that he would no longer be doing anything that he considered to make him be well, including sleeping, eating, drinking, exercising, solving major political crises, or posting Facebook updates about his achievements at the University of Edinburgh.
“I had my own sort of Shrove Tuesday”, Ross-Tatum said. “Obviously it’s usually a day of gorging and over-indulging on pancakes and other treats before the fast beginning on Ash Wednesday.”
“Well I certainly indulged myself,” continued Ross-Tatum. “I completed 17 yoga sessions on Tuesday morning, got on the phone to Obama to give him some advice about Assange before brunch, gave 43 lectures on mental health in the afternoon, and then dropped at Cab Vol in the evening. It was a real big one.”
At the time of writing, Ross-Tatum could be seen in the EUSA office, red-eyed, and haggard looking, muttering about how he’d mistakenly given up ‘everything’.
