Gay Scottish MP Comes Out as Tory
David Mundell, the openly gay Scottish Secretary and MP for Tweeddale, this week came out as a Tory, much to the shock and consternation of his constituents.
“We’re in Scotland…how did we end up with a Tory MP? Surely no one voted for him? It just doesn’t make any sense” said Tweedale local Caroline O’lineoline, while her neighbour Craig ‘Saywhat’ Saywhatadeewhatwhat claimed he had voted Tory, but only because he though Tweeddale sounded far too silly and English to actually be in Scotland.
Mundell has received widespread support about from all corners of the political spectrum for his sexuality, but seriously, a gay Scottish Tory MP? Is that even…possible?
Members of the LGBTQi (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Quite Interesting) community have been divided on the matter: whilst some have made statements embracing Tory MPs into the community with statements through gritted teeth, others have expressed their outrage by replacing the colour blue on the rainbow logo with a different state of fuchsia.
