Justin Bieber contests her Miami arrest
Justin Bieber’s rollercoaster life of sex, drugs and mediocre pop took a sensational turn for the better last night when she was arrested in central Miami for disturbing the peace.
Following her announcement earlier this year that she was planning to take time away from her music career spanning all of 5 years, to focus on her undergraduate degree in Gender and Sexuality Studies at Arizona State Community College, many thought her latest world tour would be the last we heard of the pop starlette. It was not long, however, before she was back dominating headlines after being arrested by police in the early hours of Thursday morning while performing at the popular Miami live music venue, The Vagabond.
Miami police were inundated with calls from the public about a disturbance of the peace when Bieber, guitar in hand, began an acoustic rendition of Never Say Never on stage. Police arrived before Bieber was able to finish her set and apprehended the singer mid-chorus while singing As Long As You Love Me. Performing on stage with rapper and close friend Khalil Sharieff, the two were taken by police to the nearby Miami-county jail.
As the world media descended on Miami, Bieber and Sharieff appeared before a judge. Despite international condemnation of the Florida State Courts System following the controversial acquittal of George Zimmerman last year, Judge Joseph P. Farina did not hesitate in releasing Justin Bieber this time with only a warning. Khalil Sharieff was later sentenced to life without parole.
Following her arrest and six hour ordeal in jail, Bieber tweeted, “Can now emfasize w. Anne. Still hope she would have been a #beliebr”
