ReOpen Nominations predicted to win landslide victory in EUSA polls
EDINBURGH, UK – EUSA by-election candidate ReOpen Nominations (R.O.N) has become the leading candidate for the thirteen delegate seats from the University of Edinburgh to NUS Scotland. According to the latest poll, R.O.N is likely to receive five to ten votes in the elections; more than the rest of the candidates combined.
RON has run an aggressive campaign to woo voters to it, promising a raft of promises such as free ice cream and a return to the Gold Standard. R.O.N has also said that it will campaign to remove EUSA from the NUS. A spokesperson for the RON 2013 campaign said, “The NUS has become too big and unwieldy, and as such I will be campaigning for EUSA to secede from the NUS. Why should the 17th Best University in the World need to cooperate with other universities? They are keeping the university from achieving its full potential. Leaving it would be the best thing for us. Our budget will become balanced and all students would be satisfied with their feedback.”
EUSA President Hugh Murdoch commented, “R.O.N’s success isn’t great news for the human EUSA candidates, but to be honest we’re just incredibly happy about the predicted turnout for the elections. This shows that EUSA have made progress in getting students to engage with vital issues relevant to students, such as the boycott of the Princess Royal.”
