Russia and Ukraine tensions still running high: France surrenders “just in case”
In the small hours of the morning Russian leader Vladimir Putin received a confusing Facebook message from his French counterpart, Francois Hollande, written to inform Putin that if a war does break out in Eastern Europe, the people of France will surrender.
Flipside has proudly tracked down a copy of the message:
“Hi Vlad, how are things? Hope you have been well, I know we don’t speak much and stuff, but I’m basically just wanting to say that if you guys do decide to go to war with the west, for whatever reason, the people of France will surrender.
We are not surrendering just now, like we want to wait and see if a war will break out, so we are letting you know just in case. If there is a big war we don’t want to be in it. Wars are scary. If you like we could make you a close friend on Facebook, we could even un-friend Britain and America if that would make you like us more.
We promise to like all of your posts and write LOL on the ones that are supposed to be funny. So like, we aren’t surrendering yet, but pls don’t attack us if you do go to war.
