3rd year forgets to post photos from year abroad
A third year student on exchange in South America has come to the realisation that all of her friends in Edinburgh have forgotten about them because they haven’t put enough photos on social media.
Emma Heriott-Birkbeck has been working in a school in rural Argentina since September 2015 as part of her Spanish and Sociology degree but has not heard anything from his anyone from Edinburgh for the last 3 months.
“It’s all my own fault, I haven’t been posting enough updates on Facebook or Twitter recently so it’s only fair people have forgotten about me. I always made sure to update my Snapchat Story with pictures of my lunch, but now I’m just getting maybe 1 or 2 views per post. What I really need to do is post everything in a massive album on Facebook with a witty title. That’ll make everyone love me again”.
Flipside sought out one of her former friends to see what the issue was. “I love Emma, but since she went abroad, she’s been taking about 20 photos of the same bananas every day and hashtagging them as #candidfruit. It’s not that we’ve forgotten about her, it’s just that we genuinely can’t be arsed to see another candid banana photo shoot.”
Attempts to talk to Herriot-Birkbeck about her friends’ concerns fell flat after she insisted on talking about how “spiritually free” she has become since going abroad and how she intends to start her own fresh fruit business after graduating.
